Jacob Yarrow
Jacob Yarrow has added the role of OLLI director to his continuing service as executive director for the Green Music Center. He is excited to be a part of the OLLI community and to continue the amazing impact of the Institute. Prior to coming to Sonoma State in 2017, Jacob served as programming director for the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium, a multidisciplinary arts presenter with a wide variety of education and artist residency programs. From 2003–2009, he worked as executive director of Garth Newel Music Center in rural Bath County, VA where he started a series of jazz, folk, and world music concerts and founded the Virginia Blues & Jazz Festival.
Jacob also worked as education director at the Association of Performing Arts Professionals in Washington, DC, and continues to serve on its board of directors. He began his career as a touring musician and a junior high music teacher. He grew up in West Virginia and holds degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of North Texas.
